Community gardens we go

Over the river and through the woods

Community gardens we go

To tend the plants and water the patch

and pull up the weeds that grow.

 

Across the vale, through Normanskill,

Community gardens we know.

We walk the trails throughout the hills

And check on the fruit below.

 

Across the creek, we walk the beat,

Tawasentha park we love.

Critters abound all around,

We listen to birds from above.

 

We stop at the barn left from the old farm,

Community gardens have all.

We gather some posts, but leaving most.

Our garden fence is too small!

 

Our apple tree grows strong and free,

Our arches support the vines.

Some veges land in the donation stand,

We keep the hungry in mind.

 

Into the park, through Normanskill,

Community gardens we go.

We like to stay and work and play

Throughout the lovely day.
