Growing Water
(Tune of "Holy Water" by Switchfoot)
Growing plants make me feel
Something inside that makes me heal.
I water my small field.
Seeing blooms and produce has an appeal.
I pull the new weeds out
(the fresh carrots make a tasty meal)
I open the water spout
(Let the rain come down)
On the thirsty ground
I water all the mounds
I know plants abound
With growing water
I grew them when I was a girl
A young teenager in the world.
A good shovel and a garden rake.
Planting seeds to see what I could make.
With excitement in my eyes.
(Hoping rain comes from the sky)
Keeping the plants alive.
(I would always strive)
When there is no rain,
I get the hose and don’t complain
No matter the way,
It’s growing water.
Sister, sons and daughters
Produce comes from the growing water
Even when it gets hotter
Veges come from the…
Sisters, sons and daughters
Plants grow strong with the growing water
Plants grow tall with the growing water.
It’s growing water.
The garden’s growing like a riot.
Every day I water again
When I want cabbage, I don’t have to buy it.
I gather up what I obtain and
I look at the quality of it
Before I taste the food I have, I strain out
Any mud that is there.
Wash the dirt away.
I don’t have to pray for rain.
I know what I can gain
I know it in my brain.
It’s growing water.
It’s growing water.
