Renewables

Renewables

(Tune of "Democracy" by  Leonard Cohen)

They’re coming as turbines offshore.

Silently harnessing wind energy more and more

The turbines in the fields

are already here

Naysayers can’t complain anymore.

From the need of constant energy

From its never-ending quality

From concern for national security

From the fact it is earth-friendly

Renewables are coming to the USA

They’re coming as solar arrays.

in farm fields that used to grow hay

The panels in a row

Face the sun and show

You can make money from renewable energy.

It’s coming as each panel

Soaks up every sun ray

The owners of the fields are happy

On each new pay day.

Renewables are coming to the USA

It’s coming from the cries of the people

Who want to reduce the use of gas and diesel

From electric car purchase

To no longer using furnace

Its time for a carbon industry upheaval.

From the protests to oil pipelines

The country’s concern is on display.

With rapid global warming

There is no time to delay

Renewables are coming to the USA

Sail on, Sail on

O lovely spaceship earth

Hear the cry of nature’s need

View actions of those with greed.

to see people's’ true worth.

Sail on, sail on, sail on, sail on

It’s coming in the buoys being tested in Hawaii

Where the constant rise and fall of waves generate electricity.

Even though there is complaining

About the eye-sore they are making.

National security is more important to the U.S Army.

It’s coming through the warnings

Of extensive climate change

Alarmed and concerned

People are in dismay

Renewables are coming to the USA

It’s coming through the votes from the masses.

Making sure green legislation passes.

It’s coming in tax-breaks

In specific states

To reduce the use of natural gasses.

They’re in our lives today

part of our work and play

a miracle, continuous

They’ll be here to stay

Renewables are coming to the USA

Sail on, Sail on.

It’s coming as geothermal energy

America is currently in the lead.

From earth's fiery core

Hot springs well up and restore

The heat that many buildings need.

We’re more stubborn than those garbage bags

That time cannot decay.

We must strive to make advances

And further green energy’s sway

Renewables are coming to the USA

So Much Better

So Much Better (Tune of “ So Much Better ” from Broadway play Legally Blonde ) All of this time I stressed and I felt depressed. I sat inside listless. I lost interest in the world and in a ball I curled. I went to sleep restless.   I started to exercise to stop feeling down. I used all of what I know. I put effort into this change I had to undergo   Whoa! What is this feeling that I feel? Is this slim body truly real? This mirror’s image, is that my visage? Someone pinch me to make sure.   I feel good when I run and hike. I am doing a routine that is right I’m feeling so much better than before.   Sadness, you have been a pest. Even my best was not keeping you back. Now it looks like I’ve found a cure. And now I so cherish this life hack. I’m on the attack.   I remember when I felt I would break. So, I worked out ‘til I sweat. Now I have a very sexy silhouette No regrets. I feel more mentally sharp. Life’s better with a stronger heart. I have energy. I’m...

Can You Hear the Birds Today

Can You Hear the Birds Today ( Tune of " Can You Feel the Love Tonight " by  Elton John ) In my restless moments, Of worry and care I seek out my lovely planet. I try to be aware.   I sit outside to rest. I breath refreshing air. It’s enough to help me be at ease. It feels just like a prayer.   Can you hear the birds today? Hear the eagle’s cry. The raptor’s call is calling out to me “See leaves against the sky.”   Will you walk beneath the boughs? In the cool moist air. When you feel gentle breeze blowing by On your skin so bare.   The four seasons come and go Moving at a creep. I know that the winter’s snow Puts the world to sleep.   The spring will come in season. To the wild outdoors. The summer sun brings much abundant growth. The fall produce is stored.   Can you sense the earth’s cycles? Time’s endless spiral. This blue-green world of oceans full of life. In a great circle.   Smell the pine trees on the hill. See the sun shine in. The ...

I Get Up Again

I Get Up Again (Tune of " Tubthumping " by Chumbawamba) We’ll be singing, when achieving, hollering when…   Life knocks me down, I get up again. It’s never gonna keep me down. Life trips me up, but I right myself, it’s never gonna stamp me down. Life beats me up, but I come back again. It never will inhibit me. Life thumps me hard, but I scamper back. It’s never gonna stifle me.   Life can be really hard, life is a business. You’ve got some pricey bills, you’ve got to advertise. Your pay check reminds you of the good times. Your loved ones remind you of the best times. (Have some goals so, you can leave legacies)   Life pounds me down, but I return again It’s never gonna repress me. Life hite me hard, but I recoup again It’s never gonna conquer me. Life bangs me down, but I retake again It’s never gonna quash me down. Life bumps me down, but I restore again It’s never gonna subdue me.   Remember to buy cheap, remember to sell dear. To make good money, find...
