Someone to Lean On

My father is wise; he is constant.

He his true blue.

And, throughout my life

He always knew, what was smart to do.

 

My father is someone who’s strong

He is a friend.

He helps me carry on.

For, time has been long.

But, I always had

My father to lean on.

 

He carried me through

Times in my life, I needed his assist

He disciplined me so as I grew

In life I was equipped

 

When I needed solace, he had compassion.

I had my father to lean on.

We’d discuss problems and he’d understand.

My father was there to lean on.

 

My father is someone strong

He is a friend.

He helps me carry on.

For, time has been long.

But, I always had

When I needed guidance, he gave direction.

I had my father to lean on.

We’d discuss problems and he’d understand.

My father was there to lean on.

 

He always would read. He prompted me

to read also.

He showed ways to be

that helped me to learn things that I know

 

I call him. If I need to support, I call him.
