Walking Is Free

When I’m working hard in my home, I sometimes need to get out and roam.

I think what is my pleasure for my exercise endeavor.

I’ll have a cup of tea and then I’ll go out walking

Walking is free

Yes, that’s for me.

A break from work is what I need.

It helps return my mental energy.

I walk under overarching trees.

Chipmunks stop and stare at me

I share some seeds

Then I keep on walking.

 

My feet beat a soft rhythm.

I notice the changes of each season

I love the cycles in our natural systems.

 

Walk, Walk, for a good reason.

Soon, Soon my work will be done.

 

Fade away, resting now.

 

I sit by and see the bright, new day.

I notice the sun’s inviting rays.

Then, I gather up my water flask.

“Why?” you might hazard to ask.

I prepare myself well, so I can go out walking.

I’m feeling free

Walking

Just go out walking.
